SCALA Art and Craft Lab
Location: Bad Goisern, Salzkammergut, Austria
Target groups: Regional and international artists, local craftspeople, companies, and the broader public.
Upper Austria (AT31)SCALA Art and Craft Lab connects crafts and art with local communities and businesses by promoting new collaborations and supporting skill development through a work-based approach. Key focuses include iterative processes, interdisciplinary collaboration, bottom-up cooperation, organisational innovation, and showcasing maker skills.
Since 2021, a joint team has run an Artists in Residence exchange programme with international and regional artists, coordinated with Bad Goisern municipality and the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024. Activities launched in 2023 include workshops, exhibitions, and events across the region, centered around a new hub at Hand.Werk.Haus Salzkammergut, fostering transversal, maker, and entrepreneurial skills among participants.
