- Health & Social Work shows good growth at 7.8%
- Mining & Quarrying shows the largest decline (-5.6%)
- Data Table
- Provides detailed numbers for each sector
- Includes NACE codes, absolute numbers of employers, and percentages
- Shows a total of 43,850 employers across all sectors
Key differences compared to Upper Austria:
- Higher industrial concentration: The combined share of manufacturing and mining employers (23.2%) is higher than in Upper Austria (16.5%)
- Smaller professional services sector: Professional & Technical Services represent only 7.2% of employers vs. 12.2% in Upper Austria
- Lower information & communication presence: 3.6% of employers vs. 5.4% in Upper Austria
- Slower overall growth: Most sectors show lower growth rates than their counterparts in Upper Austria
These differences in employer distribution help explain some of the economic challenges and opportunities in the Severozápad region compared to Upper Austria, particularly its slower transition toward higher value-added and knowledge-intensive sectors.
