Enhancing Industrial Inspiration and Resilience
Regional EXPO Lab
Providing the grounds for successful interaction between creatives and tech companies
Overview
What has been done
As part of a local event, the “Living Lab” project was implemented in the form of a regional trade fair that brought together companies, experts, and stakeholders from various sectors. The afternoon program was dedicated to a presentation and networking session, where regional companies showcased their innovations. The session began with a case study of collaboration between a small startup and an international company, highlighting the importance of effective communication, creativity, and teamwork. The event enabled participants to establish contacts, explore partnership opportunities, and exchange practical experiences, thereby fostering cross-sectoral cooperation within the region and enhancing their competences.
Why was it needed locally
The local ecosystem lacks structured opportunities for meaningful cross-sectoral collaboration, particularly between small, innovative creative businesses and established manufacturing companies. Many SMEs and startups face barriers to accessing partnerships, sharing know-how, and integrating into wider value chains. The pilot aimed to bridge this gap by creating a practical platform for direct interaction, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.

SMEs gained visibility for their innovative solutions and were able to present their capabilities to a wider audience. Participants also benefited from sharing experiences and gaining inspiration through the pane
Creative SME – Creative (solo) local entrepreneurs working in various fields.
Activation: Participants in the Rozjeď byznys program (Start Your Business) and entities included in the gallery of creatives from the Karlovy Vary region were approached via direct mailing, social media campaign and direct telephone outreach.
Benefit: This event explored the potential of informal face-to-face meetings combined with company presentations as an effective means of establishing business contacts, building trust, and sharing experiences among regional subjects. The perspectives of both collaborating parties fostered a mutual understanding of the business and creative environments.
